Palmerah is one of the strategic locations in Jakarta because its location is quite close to the main areas of the capital, such as the Bung Karno Sports Complex, the Senayan area, and the MPR/DPR building. This area is known by the wider community from its traditional market called Pasar Palmerah which is the shopping center for the local residents. There are also other interesting places such as Cattleya Park, Textile Museum and Bentara Budaya Jakarta as a place to unwind on weekends.

One of the famous transportation in Palmerah is the Palmerah Train Station which serves KRL Commuter Line trips from Tanah Abang, Serpong, Parung Panjang to Maja station. In addition, there are also many Transjakarta bus stops which can be a means of transportation in Jakarta. The Palmerah area is known by the public as a place for central offices such as the Kompas Gramedia Group, which is an office tasked with publishing newspapers, magazines, and other books.
